Sorting Challenge – Dried Fruits
The production of dried fruits is characterized by a difficult heterogeneous product flow and the presence of many small defects (sometimes less than 1 mm in size). Processors and packagers are inconvenienced by a myriad of foreign bodies, defective and contaminated products, which lower product quality and disrupt further production, when used as an ingredient.
Defects can be product specific (like stems, capstems, embedded stems, pits, pitfragments, foreign seeds...) or environment related such as contaminations from harvesting and production (like stones, embedded stones, glass, wood, plastic and many other foreign bodies).
As in most cases these defects (reject) have a similar color, compared to your good product (accept), a classical color sort is widely insufficient to perform an acceptable clean up and quality sort. Many times, the presence of these small defects, in combination with the sticky nature of the product, makes dried fruits like raisins an extremely difficult product to sort. A clean, virtually defect-free product however assures a high quality, longer conservation and influences significantly the end-user price.
Sorting on structure, by means of digital laser technology, combined with a clever mechanical design is THE solution for dried fruits. Visys NV offers you a state-of-the-art solution with the Chycane-slide featured Digital laser sorter series from THE SPYDER and THE LYNX allowing combined color, structure and shape sorting with minimal maintenance and therefore an even faster return on your investment.
Visys offers you state-of-the-art solutions allowing color, (bio)structure and shape sorting uncompromised in one single product pass, so that your product does not get damaged by over-manipulation.
Visys understands what drives you, hence our solutions are designed with simplicity and low maintenance in mind.
